Panerai is enriching its Luminor Marina collection with the new Luminor Marina Bronzo PAM01678.
While bronze has been used in other lines – for example in the Submersible Bronzo PAM968 and the Radiomir Bronzo PAM00760 – this is the very first time that the material appears in the brand’s most iconic collection.
Unlike conventional watchmaking bronze, Panerai’s bronze features a special composition of pure copper and tin. This alloy develops a particularly distinctive patina that forms through interaction with external elements such as air, moisture, heat and friction, immediately evoking the world of the sea.
The Luminor Marina Bronzo PAM01678 showcases all the signature elements of this line, including the updated design details and technical features introduced in the latest generation of the series, unveiled earlier this year at Watches and Wonders 2025.
The unmistakeable Panerai DNA is defined by the trademark crown-protecting bridge, the luminescent sandwich dial (ensuring optimal readability in low light), and the classic rhodium small seconds display at 9 o’clock, used to verify the watch’s functionality.
The 44 mm brushed case is fitted with a sapphire crystal and a titanium see-through sapphire case back, and guarantees water resistance up to 50 bar (equivalent to approximately 500 metres / 1,640 feet).
Framed by a brushed and polished bezel, the dial displays a gradient that shifts from deep blue at the edges to a lighter tone towards the centre, perfectly complementing the warm hues of the bronze and the beige Super-LumiNova applied to the hands, Arabic numerals and hour markers.
The dial is designed without a date window, displaying only the Maison’s name and ‘Luminor Marina’ for a clean, essential aesthetic.
The watch is powered by the new P.980 calibre, a 3-day power-reserve automatic movement featuring a traversing balance bridge, enhancing stability and accuracy.
Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this movement includes a stop-seconds function, allowing for precise time-setting by halting the seconds hand when the crown lever is pulled out.
Its construction incorporates new finishing for an essential, streamlined appearance visible through the sapphire case back.
Fitted with a blue-grey nubuck leather strap with ecru stitching and secured by a brushed bronze trapezoidal buckle, the watch is delivered with an additional blue rubber strap.
The new Panerai Luminor Marina Bronzo PAM01678 has a suggested retail price of €17,000 (including VAT) / US$17,500 (excluding sales taxes). panerai.com
