Lawmakers want Ohio bill to penalize AI companies when chatbots promote self-harm

A bill proposed in the Ohio House would allow the state to collect fines from AI companies whose chatbots promote harmful behaviors. The money would support the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline Fund for mental health services.
