Frédérique Constant introduces the Classics Carrée Moonphase Automatic, marking the first appearance of this complication in the elegant Carrée collection.
Housed in a 42.30 mm x 30 mm polished stainless steel case, the model is offered in two variations featuring a chevron guilloché dial with a sunray finish: one silvered (ref. FC-333S4C6) and the other navy blue (ref. FC-333N4C6).
Water-resistant to 30 metres / 100 feet, the rectangular case is defined by a two-tiered profile that balances straight and curved lines and is fitted with a signature onion-shaped crown.
The slightly convex sapphire crystal is treated with an anti-reflective coating. Total thickness is 10.51 mm.
The moonphase display at 6 o’clock is balanced by the “Frédérique Constant Genève” signature at 12 o’clock.
Both sit on a chevron guilloché pattern, presented in a monochrome finish on the silvered version or in a combination of midnight blue and lunar grey on the blue dial.
The disc mirrors the dial tones, depicting a grey Moon and stars against a deep blue sky.
Following the 27-day, 7-hour, 43-minute, and 12-second lunar cycle, the display shows the Moon’s gradual progression through its phases against a starry backdrop.
Legibility is excellent thanks to twelve faceted applied hour markers accompanied by dauphine hour and minute hands and a central seconds hand, all of which are hand-polished.
The minute track surrounding the centre is rendered in a railroad style, a detail reminiscent of designs from the 1920s and 1930s.
The transparent sapphire crystal caseback reveals the FC-333 automatic calibre, operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a 38-hour power reserve.
Paired with a calfskin strap with tone-on-tone stitching and secured by a stainless steel pin buckle, the new Frédérique Constant Classics Carrée Moonphase Automatic has a suggested retail price of €1,695. frederiqueconstant.com
