Armin Strom expands its One Week line with the One Week Skeleton Rose Gold, a new interpretation that joins the existing stainless-steel variations (read our review of the First Edition here) and the titanium edition presented earlier this year.
This latest addition brings a warmer and more expressive character to the collection, further highlighting the depth and refinement of its open-worked construction.
For the first time, the in-house calibre appears in a solid 18kt rose gold case.
Rose-gold-coloured finger bridges, hands and applied indexes echo the tone of the case, while a sleek black textile strap introduces a refined modern contrast.
Measuring 41 mm x 10.60 mm, the case remains compact and ergonomic, and its skeletonised architecture gives the watch a distinctive presence on the wrist, combining a technical aesthetic with the elegance of the precious metal.
Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 ATM (approximately 100 metres / 330 feet), thanks to a screwed-down crown protected by two guards.
The dial side showcases several components of the manufacture ARM21 calibre, an entirely redesigned and reengineered hand-wound movement which reinterprets Armin Strom’s first in-house Calibre ARM09.
Two mainspring barrels work in series to deliver a steady flow of energy for seven days, wound by the two visible ratchet wheels.
Central hours and minutes stay symmetrical, complemented by a skeletonised small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, with all hands and hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova, emitting a green glow in darker environments.
Drawing inspiration from the mechanisms of historical pocket watches, the conical power-reserve system works with Armin Strom’s three-dimensional indicator to show the remaining energy between 10 and 11 o’clock.
The transparent sapphire-crystal caseback underscores Armin Strom’s dedication to Haute Horlogerie, revealing the exceptional hand-finished details of the 194-part movement.
These include straight and circular graining, polished and chamfered bevels, Geneva-striped plates, and polished screws and sinks.
Held in place by a finger-style bridge, the balance wheel operates at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour), up from 2.5 Hz in the original One Week. To achieve this higher frequency, which enhances chronometric stability, the entire gear train was recalculated and reconfigured.
Each One Week Skeleton is assembled twice, reflecting the brand’s commitment to mechanical precision and aesthetic integrity.
A limited edition of 50 pieces, the Armin Strom One Week Skeleton Rose Gold, ref. RG25-OW.65, is priced at CHF 47,000. arminstrom.com
