DOXA today announces the launch of the SUB 200 Grande Roma, a special edition of the popular diver’s watch developed in collaboration with the Italian luxury retailer Gioielleria Grande.
Gioielleria Grande, DOXA’s official partner in the capital, is run by Raffaele Grande together with his son Michele and operates an extensive network of specialised boutiques across some of the most prestigious districts of Rome and Frosinone.
Created as a tribute to Italy and the “Eternal City”, the SUB 200 Grande Roma features an elegant gradient dial with a stylised depiction of the Colosseum, which also appears engraved on the caseback.
Displaying hours, minutes and seconds with a date window positioned at 3 o’clock, the dial is protected by a scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, designed in a “glass box” style that recalls vintage watch crystals.
It is framed by a unidirectional rotating bezel with a black stainless steel insert.
The baton-style hands and applied hour markers, along with the bezel indices and numerals, are treated with white Super-LumiNova that emits a blue glow in low-light conditions.
The case measures 42 mm in diameter and is crafted from 316L stainless steel, an alloy known for its excellent resistance to corrosion.
Including the sapphire crystal, the total thickness is 13.8 mm.
The screw-down crown is decorated with the “Grande” logo and, together with the solid screw-in caseback, ensures water resistance up to a pressure of 20 bar, equivalent to approximately 200 metres / 660 feet.
The watch is equipped with the Swiss automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
The DOXA SUB 200 Grande Roma is paired with the brand’s iconic stainless steel “beads-of-rice” bracelet, fitted with a folding clasp and diving extension.
The special packaging also includes an additional light brown textile NATO strap with a stainless steel pin buckle.
