The Gerald Charles Masterlink Perpetual Calendar marks the introduction of the brand’s most complex model to date since its relaunch.
Developed entirely in-house, it combines an asymmetrical case with a shaped automatic perpetual calendar movement, maintaining coherence between form and mechanics.
The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar is offered in two versions: ref. ML11.0-TNBR-TNSB-BR00SR-TNDP with a two-level dial featuring a smoked ruthenium finish, and ref. ML11.0-TNBR-TNSB-SP31PS-TNDP with an open-worked sapphire dial revealing the movement.
Both executions prioritise legibility through large, clearly separated counters and Super-LumiNova-treated hands.
At its core is Calibre GCA11000, an automatic movement with micro-rotor, operating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and delivering a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
The movement is based on the VMF 5401 automatic calibre supplied by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, combined with a proprietary perpetual calendar module and movement components developed by Gerald Charles.
This approach ensures visual coherence with the asymmetrical case while maintaining a compact overall construction.
Measuring 4.63 mm in thickness, Calibre GCA11000 comprises 306 components and 29 jewels, and incorporates Incabloc shock protection.
Finishing includes Côtes de Genève, perlage and hand-executed anglage on the bridges, while the caseback reveals Geneva stripe patterns arranged to evoke the topography of Geneva.
The perpetual calendar indications are arranged across three counters displaying day, date, month, leap year and moon phases.
The mechanism is programmed to account for variable month lengths and leap years for more than a century.
The moonphase display, integrated within the large indication at 6 o’clock, is driven by a 135-tooth wheel.
Compared to traditional 59-tooth systems, this solution allows for smaller, more frequent incremental movements, improving the smoothness of the display and its long-term precision.
The watch is housed in a 40 x 40 mm Grade 5 titanium case with a thickness of 10 mm and water resistance rated to 100 metres / 330 feet.
The case features a combination of brushed, polished and Darkblast surfaces, a proprietary treatment that enhances surface resistance while maintaining a matte appearance.
The integrated titanium bracelet, also developed in-house, consists of 151 components and incorporates a mix of finishes consistent with the case. The overall weight of the watch is approximately 97 grams.
The new Gerald Charles Masterlink Perpetual Calendar retails at the price of CHF 63,000 for the fumé dial version and CHF 70,000 for the open-worked dial. geraldcharles.com
