Embodying timeless elegance, the new Master Ultra Thin Date (ref. Q1238460) and Master Ultra Thin Moon (ref. Q1368460) by Jaeger-LeCoultre stand out for their grained dials in a soft copper shade.
The matte textured surface of these warmly-toned dials creates a fascinating contrast with the cool shine of the polished stainless-steel cases.
The dial layout is an example of balance and symmetry. Anchored by the date or the moon phase display at 6 o’clock, it is highly legible thanks to the elongated trapezoid indexes and the refined Dauphine hands, where one facet is satin-brushed and the other polished, creating a visually intriguing play of light from different angles.
The Master Ultra Thin Moon features a combined moon phase and date display: a silver moon against a deep blue starry background, with the dates printed in black around the moon phase aperture on the copper dial.
These models are housed in 39 mm x 9.3 mm cases in stainless steel with clean lines, polished surfaces and long, curving lugs.
Both watches benefit from in-house movements that are designed, manufactured and assembled at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Manufacture in Le Sentier. Calibre 899 animates the Master Ultra Thin Date, and Calibre 925 powers the Master Ultra Thin Moon.
Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), the two self-winding movements provide a power reserve of 70 hours.
Their high-end finishing, including Côtes de Genève, bevelled bridges and blue screws, along with the open-worked 22-carat pink gold winding rotor can be admired through the transparent sapphire case-back.
Like every new Jaeger-LeCoultre watch the Master Ultra Thin Date and Master Ultra Thin Moon undergo the 1,000 Hour Control, a more stringent testing protocol than official chronometry tests as it certifies both the movement and the fully cased-up watch.
Water resistance is rated at 5 bar (50 metres / 165 feet).
Each new Master Ultra Thin model is paired with an alligator strap in a new shade of brown, secured by a folding buckle in stainless steel, that can be easily interchanged without needing any tool.
The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Date (ref. Q1238460) and Master Ultra Thin Moon (ref. Q1368460) with grained copper-coloured dials have retail prices of €10,500 / US$10,400 and €12,900 / US$12,600, respectively. jaeger-lecoultre.com
