Following the Green and Orange versions introduced in 2025, M.A.D.Editions expands the M.A.D.2 line with two new editions characterised by a red and black colour scheme.
Designed by Eric Giroud, the M.A.D.2 draws inspiration from vinyl records and DJ turntables, referencing music culture and the aesthetics of 1990s club scenes. The new editions continue this approach, combining contrasting tones across the dial and display elements.
The first model, named M.A.D.2 R&B—standing for Red & Black, while also referencing the music genre—features a black dial plate paired with red jumping-hour and trailing-minute discs.
The watch is offered via the brand’s established raffle system, with registrations open for one week and allocation determined by a random draw conducted under the supervision of a bailiff.
The second edition, M.A.D.2 REDemption, is reserved for participants who have entered at least four previous raffles without success. Eligible collectors are contacted directly by M.A.D.Editions and can access the watch without entering a new draw.
This version features a red dial plate contrasted by black jumping-hour and trailing-minute discs, while the winding rotor on the reverse side carries the engraving: “They say I’m stubborn, I’d say persistent.”
The display architecture remains unchanged. Raised central subdials indicate the hours and minutes, recalling the layout of a DJ mixing console.
The central surface features grooves and finishes that evoke a vinyl record, while the surrounding element references the stroboscopic pattern of the Technics SL-1200 Mark 2 turntable.
This outer ring incorporates Super-LumiNova stop pins.
The rotating element visible on both the dial side and the case back functions as the automatic winding rotor. Activated by wrist movement, it reinforces the visual link with a turntable platter.
A short video of the watch in motion, highlighting the rotating dial elements, is available on our Instagram page.
The watch is housed in a 42 mm stainless steel case with a height of 12.3 mm, designed with rounded contours.
Time indications are positioned towards the centre, marked by applied metal indices. Water resistance is rated at 30 metres /100 feet.
Sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating are fitted on both sides, with the front crystal treated on both faces and the case back on the inner side.
The movement is based on the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret calibre G101, operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and delivering a power reserve of 64 hours.
It is combined with a bi-directional jumping-hour and trailing minutes module developed by MB&F. The automatic winding system powers the mechanism.
Both editions are fitted with a leather strap secured by a stainless steel folding buckle.
The retail price for the M.A.D.2 R&B and M.A.D.2 REDemption is set at CHF 2,900, excluding VAT. Registration for the M.A.D.2 R&B raffle is available at this link.
