Coming off a heat wave on the East Coast, I faced the daily question of how to dress cooler—not chicer (well, that too) but more like, How will I survive this NYC heat? The answer was to wear all white. I found that a monochromatic look was my savior, and from head to toe, I was color-free. It’s risky, I know, but I took careful measures at lunch and always carried a Tide To-Go Pen.

I did, however, run out of outfit inspiration very quickly. That’s where what’s coming below comes into play. In preparation for the next scorcher, I’ve rounded up five chic and cool white summer outfits for 2026. I touch on all the hottest summer trends, from a Canadian tuxedo to a lace-trim skirt. Scroll on for inspiration.

5 Chic All-White Summer Outfits for 2026

1. Sleep Dress + Handkerchief + Beaded Necklace

Style notes: I love the sleep-dress trend. It feels fresh, especially when worn with a chunky beaded necklace, ballet flats, a lace handkerchief, and Jackie Onassis–inspired sunglasses.

2. Poplin Skirt + T-Shirt + Basket Bag

Style notes: Poplin skirts are always the move. They’re breathable, airy, and refined. Style one with a plain T-shirt, flip-flops, and a straw bag for a chic “running errands” outfit.

3. Denim on Denim + Woven Tote

Style notes: In my time as a fashion editor, I’ve seen plenty of denim on denim but never an all-white look. This outfit puts any Canadian tuxedo doubters to shame.

4. Silky Satin Set + Kitten Heels + Wraparound Shades

Style notes: A silk set is the cheat code to looking put-together. It’s elegant but effective. Black accessories like a pair of wraparound shades, a woven tote, and strappy heels will only add to the ivory base.

5. Lace-Trim Midi Skirt + Long-Sleeve Tee + Pumps

Style notes: Not just a summer trend, lace-trim skirts can be worn well into the fall. It’s an autumn-coded buy you can make use of right now. Just pair it with a long-sleeve T-shirt and ballet flats.
