Alpina presents the Alpiner Manufacture Date Special Edition, a limited series of 130 pieces created in collaboration with the Geneva-based creative studio Label Noir.
While black is typically associated with Label Noir’s aesthetic language, this edition explores a contrasting theme, drawing inspiration from alpine landscapes through an entirely white execution combined with mineral grey tones.
The watch is housed in a 41.5 mm stainless steel case measuring 13.0 mm in height, constructed in three parts and combining hammered and polished surfaces.
For the first time in Alpina’s history, the bezel and lugs feature a hammered finish intended to evoke freshly fallen snow.
The case is fitted with an anti-reflective box-shaped sapphire crystal and a screwed, engraved caseback incorporating a mineral glass display window. Water resistance is rated to 5 ATM, equivalent to 50 metres / 165 feet.
The dial continues the winter-inspired theme with a frosted white surface finished with a delicate, irregular grain.
The absence of a flange allows the dial to extend visually to the edge of the case, reinforcing the verticality of the design beneath the domed sapphire crystal.
A sector-style minute track frames the periphery, alternating rectangular markers at the quarters with circular indexes at five-minute intervals, all printed in grey. The Alpina and Label Noir logos are positioned at 12 o’clock.
Time is indicated by three centrally mounted hands. The hour and minute hands are white-painted and filled with blue-emission Super-LumiNova to ensure legibility in low light conditions, while the white-painted seconds hand features a white triangle counterweight.
The date is displayed at 6 o’clock by means of a hand, a layout characteristic of Alpina’s manufacture movements offering extended power reserve.
Powering the watch is the in-house automatic calibre AL-706, marking the return of a manufacture movement within the Alpiner collection.
Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and equipped with 26 jewels, the movement delivers a power reserve of 72 hours, achieved through an enlarged barrel and a revised alloy for the mainspring.
The plate, barrel bridge, gear bridge and balance bridge are decorated with perlage, while the oscillating weight features fan-shaped Côtes de Genève finishing. The movement is visible through the transparent caseback.
The watch is fitted with a white textile strap complemented by white leather loops and tab, secured by a folding buckle.
The Alpina x Label Noir Alpiner Manufacture Date Special Edition is priced at €3,695 and is limited to 130 individually produced pieces. alpinawatches.com
