BMW to axe 8,000 jobs as competition from China and US tariffs batter German car-making giants including Volkswagen and Mercedes

The German automotive powerhouse said on Wednesday it will cut several thousand jobs in Germany by the end of 2027 as part of a voluntary redundancy programme.
