China and the European Union say they have agreed on steps toward resolving their dispute over the bloc’s imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles. The EU has issued guidelines for Chinese auto exporters on submitting price offers, including minimum import prices. China’s commerce ministry say the move is conducive to ensure healthy trade relations with the EU. The EU imposed tariffs of up to 35.3% on China-built EVs in 2024 following an anti-subsidy investigation and after EU officials concluded that Chinese automakers had benefited from unfair government subsidies.
