Egypt is stepping up efforts to transform its automotive industry from an assembly-based sector into a fully integrated manufacturing hub by increasing local content, manufacturing complete vehicle bodies domestically, and launching a vehicle replacement programme to boost demand for locally made cars and reduce steel imports.
