Investigators have arrested a man who allegedly set a fire inside the Elkton Walmart Supercenter last month to serve as a distraction while he stole merchandise valued at nearly $10,000 from a jewelry counter – shutting down the store entirely for six days and causing an estimated $10 million in damage due to smoke, soot and remediation efforts, the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal reported Friday morning.

Police identified the suspect as Anthony J. Rhodes, 36, of Berlin, N.J.
